Travel to Europe: Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Austria...there are lots of photographs to be taken, lots of filming.

 

2.2008-3.2008

Workshops for "Capturing Change," the video project by Community to Community (C2C) for young women of color in Bellingham. Soleworks conducted instruction for 4 workshops, guiding these young women to produce their own video documentary of their choice. They decided to do a video about peer pressure, with interesting results...(video coming soon). They presented their video at the annual Cesar Chavez Dinner on March 30th. Our hope is to have them teach the video workshops to other young women in the future.

The Lummi Youth Academy video has been completed!

Matt Magrath, Director of the Lummi Youth Academy, said this: "The video and the resulting work that we strategized out of that really made a believer out of some...We were able to launch the process--and the video was part of that." (video coming soon)

Instruction begins at Evergreen AIDS Foundation teaching women living with AIDS about documentary filmmaking. Their hope is to make a film of their own to break societal taboos.

Production begins on a promotional video for Lummi Youth Academy to raise funding for a new boarding school for native youth.

Editing for Female Faces of War documentary (Limted Use Edition) finished. Final Version edits due in February 2008. View the trailer in the video portfolio. >>

Instruction for Native Lens/Longhouse Media workshops completed (teaching Native youth the skills of video production).

Plans begin for teaching video production skills to farmworker youth in January 2008 through Community to Community Development.
